High performance turbines

Product description

High performance turbine 3.6

This unit is a single-disc blast wheel with six plug-in throwing blades. We offer these high-performance turbines with a blast wheel diameter of 350 and 399 mm. Motors up to 22.0 kW serve as the drive.

Advantages

The advantage of single-disc blasting wheels lies in the fact that fewer parts subject to wear are present than in double disc wheels. This means less work required for assembly and lower costs for maintenance and repairs. We will be glad to explain the difference to you in detail. The throwing vanes are inserted into the carrier plate from the center. An additional clamping disk covers the insertion opening and locks the throwing vanes in place.

Material and construction

All essential internal parts of the turbine, such as the throwing blades, the distributor wheel, the guide sleeve and the disks, are made of highly wear-resistant material. Various material variants are available for different operating conditions, which can be specifically adapted to the requirements of the respective application. The housing of the turbine is made of wear-resistant manganese steel and is additionally protected from the inside by replaceable plates made of tool steel.

Ease of maintenance

A special feature of the single-disc impeller is its ease of maintenance. The most important wear parts can be easily removed both through the removable cover of the turbine housing and through an assembly opening on the side. This saves time and costs during maintenance and ensures high availability of the system.

Blasting power and efficiency

The AGTOS high-performance turbines are characterized by excellent flow characteristics that enable a high abrasive throughput. The “hot spot”, i.e. the area that is intensively exposed to the blast media, is long and uniformly strong. This leads to optimum blasting results and efficient surface treatment.

Wear parts made of hard metal

For applications in which very aggressive abrasives are used, we offer wear parts made of carbide. These parts increase the service life by up to tenfold and ensure continuous production with minimal maintenance and service times. In order to make optimum use of the existing wear parts, we offer a step-by-step material change. We will be happy to explain the options to you.

Single-disc blasting wheel 4.6

The AGTOS single-disc blast wheel 4.6 is the larger version of the tried-and-tested 3.6 model and offers enhanced performance features. This unit is also equipped with six plug-in throwing blades and is available in versions with throwing wheel diameters of 420 mm, 440 mm and 460 mm. Motors with an output of 18.5 to 37.0 kW are used as the drive. If a drive with bearing pedestal is used, even more powerful drives are possible, which increases the flexibility of this turbine.

Advantages

As with the smaller model, there are fewer wearing parts than double disk wheels required.
This significantly reduces the assembly effort as well as the maintenance and repair costs. In addition, the design allows the throwing blades to be inserted centrally into the carrier disk and secured by a clamping disk, which simplifies handling and increases operational safety.

Material and construction

The internal parts of the turbine, such as throwing blades, distributor wheel, guide sleeve and disks, are made of wear-resistant material, which is available in different variants depending on the application. The housing of the turbine is made of robust manganese steel and is additionally protected on the inside by replaceable plates also made of wear-resistant material.

Ease of maintenance

The 4.6 single-disc centrifugal impeller is just as easy to maintain as the 3.6 model. The most important wear parts can be removed both through the removable cover and through an assembly opening in the side of the turbine housing. This design minimizes the installation effort considerably.

Blasting power and efficiency

The AGTOS high-performance turbine 4.6 offers outstanding blasting performance, supported by favorable flow characteristics that enable a high blasting medium throughput. The “hot spot” – the area that is intensively exposed to abrasive – is long and uniformly strong on this model, which leads to excellent blasting results. The 4.6 is particularly suitable for applications with larger abrasive diameters of up to 3.5 mm, for example when desanding castings or where there are large distances between the turbine and the workpiece.

Retrofitting and conversion

AGTOS high-performance turbines of any kind, can not only be installed on new machines, but can also be retrofitted to existing blasting systems. Up to now, upgrading to the AGTOS system has resulted in consistent improvements in blasting performance. In addition to the complete replacement of turbines, we also offer conversion kits under the name “AGTOS-Inside”. These make it possible to install the inner workings of an AGTOS turbine in an existing, still intact turbine housing from another manufacturer. This significantly improves the blasting result and saves costs.

Construction of an AGTOS high-performance turbine

The blades are inserted in the carrier disc from the middle. An additional clamping disc covers the insertion opening and arrests the blades.

All internal parts of the turbines such as blades, impeller, guiding sleeve and the discs are made of wear-resistant material. Different variants are available and can be selected to match your use case.

The turbine housing consists of wear-resistant manganese steel and is protected from the inside by additional replaceable plates of a similarly wear-resistant tool steel.

The most important wear parts of the blasting wheel can be removed either through the removable cover on the turbine housing or through the assembly opening on the side of the turbine housing. This saves assembly effort and costs.

The favourable flow characteristics of our AGTOS-high-performance turbines assure a high through put of blasting abrasive and with it outstanding blasting results. The Hot Spot, the surface being bombarded with blasting abrasive, is long and evenly thick, which produces the best blasting results.

Wear parts made of hard metal

For applications with very aggressive blasting media and high wear, we also offer the wear parts of the high-performance turbines 3.6 made of carbide. This enables up to ten times the service life of the wear parts to be achieved. This ensures continuous production and minimizes maintenance and service times.

In order to enable our customers to use up already existing wear parts before changing to hard metal parts, we are also offering the stepwise change of material. We would be glad to explain the different options.

„AGTOS-Inside“

AGTOS high-performance turbines are not just mounted on new machines. To date, after retrofitting of existing shot-blasting machines with the AGTOS-system, improvements in blasting performance have always been achieved.

Along with the replacement of complete turbines, we offer various refit sets under the title „AGTOS-Inside“. This option installs the internal components of AGTOS-turbines in existing, still intact turbine housings from other manufacturers. This can decisively improve blasting results. At the same time, it reduces costs, since parts that have not yet worn out are used up first. For this variant, structural prerequisites are needed that must first be tested. Please contact us.
